Are You Eligible for a Business Closure Grant?
Businesses that are forced to close or are placed under trading restrictions may be eligible for a grant. Find out if you're eligible.
The government’s covid tier system has meant that many businesses, particularly in Tier 4, are forced to close or are placed under trading restrictions. These businesses may be eligible for a business support grant.
Falkirk still finds itself in Tier 3 and so this support may not apply, yet. Stirling and other areas however have been moved to Tier 4 and are more likely to be eligible for this support.
To be eligible for these specific grants the applicant must be a Non-Domestic Rates Payer (Business Rates) as support is linked to this mechanism.
There are two types of funding:
Business Temporary Closure Fund
A grant of £2,000 or £3,000 (depending on rateable value) for businesses required to close by law for the duration protective measures are in place.
-
£2, 000 if their premises have a rateable value of up to and including £51,000; or
-
£3,000 if their premises have a rateable value of £51,001 or above.
Funds will be payable every 4 weeks in arrears for the duration measures are in place.
AND ……
Business Restrictions Fund
A grant of £1,400 or £2,100 (depending on rateable value) for businesses that remain open but are specifically and legally required to modify their operations as a result of protective measures, eg your business is required by law to close earlier than normal.
-
£1,400 if their premises have a rateable value of up to and including £51,000; or
-
£2,100 if their premises have a rateable value of £51,001 or above.
Funds will be payable every 4 weeks in arrears for the duration measures are in place.
